An important summit about healthcare is to be organized in Porto the 17th and 18th of November. The event will involve and invites to participate patient organizations, academia and research centers as well as health and data strategy organizations.  

AFFIRMO’s interest in the event lies in its great care for health data quality, which is crucial for the detection of any abnormality in heart rhythm and for the subsequent diagnosis of a disease – with special regard to atrial fibrillation.  Furthermore, the European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i-HD) – one of AFFIRMO’s partners, is one of the event organizers.  

To be precise, the aim of this summit is to demonstrate the importance of the quality of healthcare data, how to measure data quality, and how to improve it. Whether for primary use or secondary use, data quality is a universal requirement. It is the most important real-world data challenge. Data without quality can neither contribute value nor serve any useful purpose. 

In addition, the summit will combine the different perspectives of data scientists, healthcare professionals, patients, and governance to find the much-needed consensus for the next generation of healthcare systems.
