In the end of July was published a paper summing up the main conclusions of the 8th AFNET/EHRA Consensus Conference! The conference, which is a biannual event focused on the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation (AF), hosted intense interdisciplinary and hybrid discussions between eighty-three international experts.

One of AFFIRMOS's partners - Gregory Lip from the University of Liverpool - is among the authors of this EP Europace publication! The experts involved recognized that, despite significant advances in the management of atrial fibrillation (AF), AF remains difficult to detect. Furthermore, AF-related complications are associated with unacceptable morbidity and mortality – even with optimal therapies – making Atrial Fibrillation an important public health burden impacting not only healthcare systems but also affected patients and their families. One of the main outcomes of the Conference outlined the crucialness of structured high-quality care for patients affected by AF. The Conference statement eventually mentions AFFIRMO as one of the EU-funded projects that are working to develop a framework for high-quality structured care dedicated to AF patients! Indeed, and in accordance with AFFIRMO's mission, the experts are demanding a more patient-centeredcentred clinical pathway, through the development of a more holistic, inclusive, and personalized care strategy
