AFFIRMO at the 19th EuGMS!
- 26 September 2023
Picture this: Helsinki, Finland, 19th EuGMS Congress. The European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS), partner in the AFFIRMO consortium, organised its annual International Congress from September 20th to 22nd, both in the vibrant heart of Helsinki and online. Under the theme of 'Healthy Aging in the Changing World,' the Congress was an incredible opportunity for clinicians, clinical scientists, ambitious trainees, dedicated educators, and tireless researchers shaping the future of health services.
In this vibrant setting, Dr. Donato G. Leo (University of Liverpool) and Dr. Caterina Trevisan (University of Padua) had the chance to showcase some of the findings from the AFFIRMO project. The team presented the AFFIRMO study that has identified the key needs, quality performance indicators (QPIs) and key outcomes for patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals that have, or work with, atrial fibrillation in the context of multiple chronic conditions.
But it doesn't end here: Dr. Lu Dai (Karolinska Institutet) held a presentation titled “Comorbidity patterns and health outcomes in older adults with atrial fibrillation: Nationwide population-based findings from the Swedish National Patient Register”.
Dr. Cheima Amrouch (University of Gent) held a presentation titled "Prescribing patterns in people with atrial fibrillation and multimorbidity".
Our participation in the EuGMS2023 generated a lot of interest and discussion in the work and the wider AFFIRMO project!
