The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore , founded in 1921, is engaged in the understanding and study of those topics that have proved vital to the well-being of each human being: the new frontiers of economics, bioethics, environmental recuperation, developments in the judicial fields, family dynamics, major mass phenomena, the evolution of political systems, new horizons in medicine, the technological applications of physics and mathematics, and the most recent discoveries in environmental research.

The present work will be carried out at two different Departments: the Consumer, Food & Health Engagement Research Center (EngageMinds HUB), located in Milano and Cremona and devoted to the study and the promotion of citizens’ engagement in health and food related processes; and the High School of Management of Health Systems (ALTEMS), set up in 2009 in Rome as a result of a scientific collaboration between the faculty of Economics and the faculty of Medicine and Surgery, which operates within the field of Economics and Healthcare management and offers qualification-based training at various stages in the professional development of people employed in the field of private and public healthcare.

In AFFRIMO, patient engagement/empowerment and behavioral change experts will be involved in WP6 and 4, whereas Health Economist, HTA experts will be mainly involved in WP8.

Prof. Guendalina Graffigna

PhD in Social Psychology at Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan (Italy). Director for the Research Center “EngageMinds Hub: Consumer & Health Research Center". Member of the Coordination Committee of the PhD School in Psychology and Director of the Executive Master Program in Patient Advocacy Management at the same University. Post Doc fellow and visiting professor in Qualitative Methods at the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology, University of Alberta. She is now coordinating an intra and inter university reflection for contributing to priorities and policies discussions on patient engagement. In 2014 she validated the PATIENT HEALTH ENGAGEMENT Scale, the first measure of the patients' psychological experience of engagement in chronic care management. Prof. Americo Cicchetti

PhD, Professor of Management at Rome's Catholic University. Chief of Research of the Health Technology Assessment Unit (hospital based HTA Unit), “A. Gemelli” University Hospital (Rome). Scientific Director of the Master Program in Health Care Management at Catholic University and member of the Scientific Committee of the International Master Program in Health Technology Assessment and Management. Currently Vice President and founder of the Italian Society of Health Technology Assessment. He was Member of the Steering Committee of the EUNetHTA Project, European Network of Health Technology Assessment (2006-2008) and he is now leading an Italian associated partner of the EUNEHTA Collaboration (2009-). Member of the Editorial Board of the “International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care” (2008-) and of the "Italian Journal of Public Health".
