i~HD is a not-for-profit institute registered in Belgium. It is a membership-based organization with members from pharma, healthcare providers, academic organizations, and works closely with patient organizations, healthcare payers, the health ICT sector and standards development organizations. i~HD develops methods, solutions and services that can maximize multi-stakeholder value obtained from health data, to support innovations in health, health care and knowledge discovery, while ensuring compliance with privacy protection. It tackles areas of challenge in the successful scaling up of innovations that rely on high quality and interoperable health data. Its activities include a Network of Excellence for healthcare providers, data quality assessment and improvement support, promoting codes of practice and expertise in sustainability and business modelling. i~HD has staff with experience of leading or being a partner in over 80 EU projects.
i~HD personnel bring longstanding expertise in electronic health record data, its representation and interoperability, and its roles in supporting patient care, patient empowerment and its reuse within the learning health system. They have experience of designing and implementing health ICT innovations, and in piloting their suitability and usability in diverse kinds of European pilot site. They bring state-of-the-art expertise and information governance including GDPR compliance, data quality assessment and formalised assessments of the quality and trustworthiness of ICT innovations.
