The Danish Center for Clinical Health Services Research (DACS) at Aalborg University was created in January 2018 and has well-established collaboration with a number of research groups both domestic and internationally. By performing research and providing research-based analyses, the mission of DACS is to improve the quality of health care. In addition, DACS provide pre-and post-graduate teaching within health services research, epidemiology and biostatistics at AAU.

Prof. Søren Paaske Johnsen

Professor, consultant, head of Danish Center for Clinical Health Services Research, MD, PhD. More than 20 years of full-time research experience within clinical epidemiology and health services research. The primary field of interest is clinical health services research with a focus on the quality of clinical care, including implementation of evidence-based care, comparative effectiveness of clinical interventions and evaluation of quality improvement strategies. Cofounder of multiple national Danish clinical quality registries, including Danish Stroke Registry and Atrial Fibrillation Denmark. Steering group member of multiple ongoing international research-initiated clinical trials on atrial fibrillation and stroke care. Number of citations: >10.000, H-index (Scopus): 53. More than 90% of the publications include original data.

Prof. Riccardo Proietti

MD – PhD, graduated from Rome’s Catholic University in 1997. He then specialized in cardiology at the University of Perugia and achieved a PhD degree in Cardiovascular Science at Padua. He accomplished a fellowship in clinical electrophysiology at McGill University Canada. Since 2010, he is a Consultant Cardiologist at Luigi Sacco Hospital of Milan with a focus on cardiac pacing and electrophysiology. He is certified in cardiac pacing by the European Heart Rhythm Society and clinical electrophysiology by the Heart Rhythm Society. He author articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters.

Dr. Jan Brink Valentin

Senior statistician, MSc Background in mathematics, physics and bioinformatics. More than 7 years of full-time employment within epidemiology. Author or co-author of more than 20 peer-reviewed publications. Study statistician on three ongoing randomised clinical trials. Solid experience as pre-and postgraduate supervisor.

Dr. Mette Jørgine Kirkeby

Data manager, MScPH. Background in public health science, currently in the last phase of a PhD project. Five years of experience using an extensive range of Danish medical registries for epidemiological Research. Solid experience with multiple analytical tools, including Stata and R.

Dr. Carina Jensen

She has worked as a project manager on European funded projects for 3 years. Carina has a background as Biomedical Engineer and a PhD degree from Aalborg University with experience in most aspects of research and development. She participated in the training course “Master of Finance and Administration and EC Audits” in 2019. In the projects, Carina works as co-lead of the management work package, providing valuable support to the coordinator to ensuring that the project and consortium members live up to the objectives set out in the Grant Agreement. Apart from the project management in the projects, Carina has been the work package leader of Exploitation, Dissemination and Communication in a large H2020 project. Furthermore, Carina has experience in managing IFD Grand solutions projects, and participated in an Erasmus+ project.
