Solidly placed in top 100 in Engineering and Science and among the top two percent of the world’s 17,000 universities, AAU is characterised by combining a keen engagement in local, regional, and national issues with an active commitment to international collaboration since its establishment in 1974.

As a university with a strong international profile, AAU is involved in a large number of international institutional networks and partnerships. AAU participates in several international educational cooperation programmes, and cooperate with researchers, research groups and research centers throughout the world. Aalborg University currently participates in 140 Horizon 2020 actions, for a total budget of 58.514.610 Euro.

The Danish Center for Clinical Health Services Research (DACS) at Aalborg University was created in January 2018 and has well-established collaboration with a number of research groups both domestic and internationally. By performing research and providing research-based analyses, the mission of DACS is to improve the quality of health care. In addition, DACS provide pre-and post-graduate teaching within health services research, epidemiology and biostatistics at AAU.
